"Helios" Olsztyn multiplex, being part of the network of Polish cinemas, was founded in 1993 in the “Alfa” Shopping Centre. The cinema follows modern trends offering the audience 1100 seats in five air-conditioned projection rooms with high-class technical equipment, which guarantees an excellent sound and image quality (pearl screens).

Its name may sound today a bit ironic as cinemas which do not offer comfortable seats but only maintained their soul – have already ceased to exist. “Awangarda”, dating back to the pre-war times, is the oldest cinema in the capital of Warmia and Mazury. Its greatest strength is highly ambitious repertoire, getting it close to the old “art cinema”. “Awangarda” shows valuable, less known Polish and foreign productions, although it does not exclude popular cinema. Before the show you may spend some time in cosy, beautifully stylised interiors of the Film Tea-Room or MM Film Coffee Bar.
